Designing in the Open

This started out as a discussion with some friends, and turned into a talk I gave at BlendConf.

I'm curious if we are capable of designing in the open, open sourcing our work (some of it), and/or collaborating as a group of designers on a project.

So a few of us from the conference started a new site to begin the discussion. We are also trying to see if we can collaborate on the design as an open community.

Here are the two design discussions we just started:

Yohan Creemers

Erik Hersman: Keynote

Erik is the co-founder of Ushahidi (which means "testimony" in Swahili), a web application created to map the reported incidents of violence happening during the post-election crisis in Kenya. Currently, he is working with a team of mostly-African programmers to continue development of this new free and open source platform that makes it easier to crowdsource crisis information and visualize data.

I have been working with hosted and enterprise online PM collaboration
products for over 10 years.
