Suggestions, Examples or Patterns for a Touchscreen Radio Button / Binary Control?

NOTE: Yes, I'm aware of the iPhone/iPad controls, but as I said, we can't use those, we don't have multitouch, which I think you need for the on/off control to work properly.

Auditive/Haptic feedback - good for car touch screens?

I am investigating a concept for the center stack of a car. Does
anyone know what effects auditive and/or haptic feedback on car touch
screens - have on the user experience?

The concern is that the driver is already affected by things like
bumps, vibrations and sounds.

So, if there is a touch screen in the car (similar to iPhone), how is
'added' sound or haptic feedback experienced?

Ex Scenario.
The driver wants to select a new song.
He drags a list (think iPhone) to choose a new song.
If there is auditive or haptic feedback -ex.

Touchscreen Buttons

I am looking for information related to touchscreen buttons (height,
width, separation, distance from corners, etc.)

In a discussion archive from 2005, "Touchscreen target size"; it
was mentioned that ISO/ANSI recommends a size of 3/4" for the size
of touchscreen buttons.

Touchscreen PCs

Has anyone used touchscreen PCs like the HP touchsmart (,
and what has been your experience?
Most of what I've seen are home PCs with "lifestyle apps". But I am
wondering what the experience would be like for business applications built
for this medium. Would users feel comfortable using this for business? I am
also wondering about users with carpal tunnel syndrome or other physical

Touch is the new Click - Gestures are the new UI

Don't know if anyone of you saw the announcements in London two days ago? I
know its outside the US so it doesn't really count, but here is the heads up

A mobile, open development platform with touchscreen, haptic feedback,
presence, GPS location, WiFI/VoIP and an AJAX capable web browser. Only
Google Gears is missing. Nokia showed a touch UI phone with a development
environment. It is not multi-touch, darn! The touch screen in the demo was a
resistive type single point touch screen.
