Card sorting with blind users


I am working on the redesign of the Preferences dialog for an application specifically intended for blind users. The current UI has grown over the years and right now contains about 50-70 different options.

Tag cloud generators

Hi All,

I'm doing an evaluation of the publically accessible tag cloud
generators. Tagging is quite popular now, but most of the tagging
activities belong to folksonomy, which users tag manually. Tag cloud
generators are used to create tag clouds automatically. There are
ways to generate a tag cloud:

1. Given a piece of text, create a tag cloud according to the
frequency of the words.
2. Given a URL of a web page, generate a tag cloud based on the
existing links on that web page

Tag clouds (and tagging)

Hi All,

Does anyone know of any resources regarding the drawbacks of tag
clouds or the debate about their value versus their drawbacks. I have
a bee in my bonnet about them and would like write a point of view but
want to do appropriate research first.

Taxonomy + Folksonomy ?

Howdy all,

(sorry for cross-posting, I don't know where to go anymore)

I'm imagining a system (for a project) where a fixed taxonomy exists,
but where each node in the taxonomy is also associatated (editorially,
by humans) with a series of folksonomy tags.

So, for example, the system's fixed taxonomy might have:


Each node of this taxonomy might then be associated with various free
folksonomic tags, so the taxonomic "Animals" might also include any data
object tagged with the folksonomy tag "critters".
