HCI program: University of Michigan vs. University of Maryland - Thoughts on both programs?

Hi everyone,

I have recently been accepted into two HCI programs at the iSchools at the University of Michigan and the University of Maryland.

I had intended to go to Michigan, since I had thought that Maryland's due date for acceptance was March 9. But it's actually April 6. So now I have a few short days to decide which to go to!

For background, I come from a Psych/English double major with no programming experience, and some self-learned graphic design skills.

HCDE @ UW vs. HCID @ IUB

Hi,

I recently applied for the HCI courses at University of Washington and IU, Bloomington. While I'm awaiting their results, I thought I'd quickly get an opinion from the members of this forum on the respective courses. Since you guys have heard and probably analyzed these courses, it would really help if you could help me make my decision.

Grad School: HCDE vs. HCI/d vs. Digital Media

I've recently been admitted to the Human Centered Design & Engineering MS program at University of Washington.  I was also admitted into the HCI/d program at Indiana University - Bloomington.  Still waiting on a decision from the Digital Media program at Georgia Tech.

SO: if I was to get into all three programs,  which should I choose?  I'm leaning towards HCDE at UW at the moment - i want to be an Interaction designer if that helps...

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated!  Esp. if you went to one of these schools!

opportunities for a Software Engineer

Hi everyone!

I'm a student who is probably going for a Software Engineering BSc degree in the UK. All the universities that I have interest in, have some kind of focus on design and the creative parts.

But I'm wondering, because I'm sure I going to end up in the IxD/HCI field.
What i want to know is the following....

Undergraduate programs for HcI, HCC, and Informatics

After 4 years of education (2 year degree) focused heavily around aesthetic graphical design, and some time in the professional industry as an interface (ux) designer, I have decided to continue moving forward with further education. My passion for design interaction, mental cognition, and technology, leads me to believe that further education is the most logical step towards growing in these areas of focus–
