Interaction Design Foundation Courses

Has anyone taken any of the courses from
if so, would you say they're useful for really learning interaction design?

June's Hack Night SLC

It's that time of month again folks! Time for free food, great socialization, collaboration, presentations, and general awesomeness. Time for Hack Night SLC's June installment. For those of you who haven't been out to Hack Night before, come give it a try!

We are being hosted at Neutron Interactive's HQ again this month, so there are plenty of break out rooms, whiteboards, a slide and ping pong table. All to help you break out of creative ruts, build new apps, and work on that project you have been kicking around in your head.

Reasearch: proof that interaction = increased knowledge?

Because I rather blindly tend to assume these things, and would rather not, has anyone seen any research or proof that interaction with a site (or other digital experience) improves knowledge?

Ideally this would be proof that interaction results in you finding a product/service more relevant to you ... it would be good to know if you've seen something.

Happy to discuss,

Creating High Fidelity Prototypes for Desktop Applications

I'm a design student looking for recommendations for an application/software (or any other method) that would allow me to create a high fidelity desktop application prototype for the purposes of demonstration and testing. Unfortunately I can't code :(

Right now I'm using Axure but it's got it's limitations since it's best suited for web and mobile.

UX-related job seeking

Hi everybody,

I'm a UI Engineer that have been working in Sophia for 2 years. I open this thread to ask you if you know some names of companies of the area to which I could send a CV. I'm interested to switch to a UX-oriented position, such as UX Designer, Information Architect, Usability specialist or similar and  I saw there are people working in these design fields, but I can't find any job opening in Monster, LinkedIn, etc.

Thus, knowing some companies that might be interested in such a position would be really helpful.
