If you’re a product or a design professional, I’m sure you’ve had ideas such as “why don’t they do it this way or that way”. Well, here’s your chance to get in the door and help transform India’s leading Online Travel Company into an even more delightful experience.
The NYC Software Product Management meetup group is meeting next Tuesday, July 20th, at 6:30pm in NYC to discuss product management best-practices in overseeing Drupal based publishing and informational sites.
I am so happy I found this place and believe that I will finally find
answers to my zillions of questions ;)
I have a degree in media management (which is like business
administration for media companies) and currently work as a product
manager for an innovative online company in germany. As product
manager I constantly do concepts about our websites and features, so
I already have professional experience in the area of interface and
I always had a huge passion for design, internet and photography. And
now I want to commence my educational career in this area.
I have been working on product customizers and these online tools
require immense user interaction. Developing and designing these have
always posed a challenge and now I am at a crossroad to choose whether
I should compromise on user experience or fun?
The out of box experience (OOBE) describes the users first interaction
with a product or service. In the technology sector this first
experience invariably involves plugging stuff in, installing some
software and crossing your fingers in the hope that the product will
work. The problem is that, in far too many cases, it doesnt.
Recent conducted by Accenture in the US shows that each year
consumers return millions of electronic products not because they
dont work, but because customers think they dont work.
Now, remember I said my company is buying me one, but after reading
this, I'm not sure I would buy one. Here's why? remember I want to
focus on hardware issues, but there are some important software issues
for me that became apparent. Maybe these can be changed in the
firmware at a later date. Let's hope so:
1. can't use as a WAN modem for my laptop - This is a major thing I
want in my next phone.
