The social web is broken. Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram, Pinterest,
Tumblr, Path, whatever, app or web… you name it. They’re all the same:
instantly interesting, lastingly boring. All we’ve got are social
networks that are networked but not social, social media that is media
but not social, social marketing that is marketing but not social, and
social interactions that are interactive but not social. What's the problem? How to fix it? Here are my initial thoughts.
I am very new to IxD and have been doing a lot of research lately to look for similar programs to Umea's Industrial Design Intensive. I'm about to graduate with a BS in business/economics, and have very limited design education, thus looking for some sort of grad school prep program. Also, the program doesn't require any professional experience or a portfolio for admissions.
We are currently working on an iPad app for pilots that will require different viewing modes for day and night. We are aware of the built-in feature that iPads have, but are curious about common practices and conventions that may exist in regards to this sort of design. Does anyone have any idea where we should be looking for information on this?
Hi Everyone- I've taken a pot shot at making a first event! Many of us are located North of the city so I've set a date of Thursday, Feb.28th at the Oberoi Mall BBC @ 8pm (the BBC is on the 3rd floor near PVR cinema).
I'd appreciate it if you could please take 5 minutes to complete this survey on continuing education. Please feel free to forward the survey link (below) to others you think might be interested in continuing education and graduate studies.
