The Myth of Good Designers

ABSTRACT

There’s a ridiculous myth about good designers: they can deliver higher quality work faster. That’s simply NOT true when it comes to design.

This post originated from a discussion between a friend and me about designers and the “design field scene” in China. I wonder whether the same or similar issue exists in all other countries. Comment!

What are some unmet needs of interaction designers (professional and personal)?

Hi-

I'm a graduate student doing some initial research for my thesis project.

As interaction designers, we spend a lot of time thinking about user's unmet needs, but I'm wondering if you could share some stories about your own unment needs in your work process or personal life as a designer? (e.g. pool performance of prototyping tools, etc...)

Interaction designers who are scuba divers

Hello everyone,

I was recommended to join this group by someone here in Helsinki. I hope it is ok to post to this local group as a new member. What should I call myself

Hi all,

I am currently employ in a retail company doing all the marketing collateral such as presentation, user interface, etc....  Am I still consider an UI designer?  I do all the concept to final stage on the site.  The reason I ask because I am trying to locate a job as an UI.  I want to know will all my pass experience consider UI experience?
