Recently I was asked to help design an interactive whiteboard application for the classroom. it is going to be a playful educative application about the basics of music production. The teacher is going to use it mostly, but the children also have to use it in some cases. One of the core teaching methods is collaboration.
My question is if there are any guidelines how to design such an application? The do's and don'ts? It also would be great if someone knows some good examples.
We are very happy to announce the
IxDA Board of Directors for 2011-2012 with the addition of three new
Directors and one returning Director. Please join us in welcoming our new Directors MJ
Broadbent, Seamus Byrne, and Kim Lenox, and we welcome back Steve
Baty. Their term will
officially begin January 1, 2011. Thank you to all of the candidates
who put themselves forth.
I would like to ask if anyone could point out a visual design association well organized as IxDA. I am aware of some of them like AIGA, Core 77 and a couple of others, but I feel all of those I know lack the type of resourceful discussion list and engaged community found here.
Needless to say that nothing prevents visual design threads being cast on IxDA as we notice from time to time, but I am after something more specific about that discipline of design.
I'm excited to be able to tell you about some work the Board has recently completed.
At our Board retreat earlier this month, the Board (http://www.ixda.org/about_leadership.php) reaffirmed and clarified the mission of our organization. I am just so excited to be able to share this with you, and I hope that after you've had a chance to read and discuss, that you'll share my enthusiasm.
IxDA has always been dedicated to two propositions.
The IxDA Board is seeking energetic, motivated candidates for several
open Board positions starting in early 2008. The Board comprises nine
volunteers. There are presently four executive positions: President,
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, each of whom are elected
from among the Board members. The remaining Board members are
Directors. Each Board member serves for a two-year term, and turnover
is staggered so that 4 or 5 members carry over every year.
