Realsitic Data in Wireframes/Prototypes/Mockups?

Hi All,

I have been thinking lately about the process for creating mockups and in particular, the data they display. I'm curious about whether the data should be more realistic or completely generic. Is one more effective than the other during client/stakeholders reviews? And so on...

PDF Mockups

Has anyone made any attempt at turning mockups or high fidelity prototypes built in HTML with javascript into a usable PDF file that maintains functionality?  I'm looking at ways of preserving this information (in my case mockups that have alternate views controlled by javascript) in pdf form.  If anyone has done this I'm curious what the process was.  Was there specific changes that had to be made to the scripting code etc...

Anyone tried balsamiq?

Hey anyone tried this?

I have been using Illustrator for wireframes, but my company uses Confluence and Balsamiq plugs in to this.

I have always steered away from any 'templated' solutions preferring to roll my own

I will start an eval.
