Incentives for remote, int'l usability testing?

Howdy. I'm a user researcher and starting to explore international, remote testing. In the past, I've used American Express gift cards for in-person tests. But this is more challenging with an international users.

Does anyone have experience with this, or recommendatinons?

Incentives for UI testing

I am currently looking into different types of incentives for
participants who take part in our UI testing sessions, and would like
to know about other UX types' experiences and recommendations...

Does the type of incentive affect the quality and/or reliability of
the participants?

interested in your thoughts on this one...

incentive models for longitudinal studies

Has anyone done a longitudinal study before? What was your incentive
model like?

We're asking participants to commit to 8 sessions, happening roughly two
weeks apart. We are fully prepared for drop-outs but want to minimize
this, obviously.

We'd considered giving people some money for each session (say $50), and
then reserving the same amount of money for the very end, which would be
handed over if they complete all 8 sessions. So they'd get $50 every
session for 8 sessions, and get an extra $400 at the end if they
attended all 8.
