There seems to be a lot of hiring for UX professionals, now, in the New York City area.
I was looking for an opprtunity much closer to home and this company was accomodating, since I do work full-time. But I was shocked, even though, in the past I had suspected that a few of the companies I had interviewed with had never hired a UX professional before. That was never really my concern, but this company, did not know very much about user experience.
I had a somewhat negative experience during an interview last month, but I partly blame myself.
I had worked on a website redesign and showed some wireframes during the interview. Well, the site had then been redesigned after my redesign and this all occured in the span of less than 6 months according to my guesstimate.
I was asked why the site had been redesigned after my redesign and all I could muster was "I am not sure".
I partly blame myself because I was unaware of the succeeding redesign.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can provide me some guidance. I have a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design and Human-Computer Interaction. I entered the game industry instead, thinking there would be plenty of interaction/UX design opportunities (since I thought games are supposedly highly interactive).
Looking for a developer who is familiar with Photon programming on QNX.
We have the basic system and software on place, but the look & feel of it needs to be styled by implementing some new design elements (buttons, backgrounds, etc.) The UX design is complete - just need someone who can implement it on the existing software.
Please let me know if you can help, or if you know someone. Thanks!

I am caught up in the NDA and out dated portolfio dilemma. I am not able to show my best work or recent work because of non-disclosure agreements or the fact that things have been re-designed or are just not current.
I was wonerding if it would be acceptable to create new deliverables. I do not have any paid mobile experience, so I wanted to start with that.
Are employer's more interested in the way I think, rather than what I have been paid to do in the past?
