Balancing SEO and design requirements on Ecomm websites

Hi All -

I am currently working with a client that is trying to get better at incorporating good usability design into their web presence but they are struggling with balancing the requirements from the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) group which are primarily around the density and frequency of particular keywords and phrases with the design elements which tend to be less text-based and more focused on directing the eye with design techniques and using graphics which may not be as search engine-friendly.

Ethnography - Frameworks

Dear All,

I am looking for resources around frameworks for data collection and data
analysis during ethnographic studies.

looking for visual design firms

My team is looking for a visual design firm to help with an interaction
project. We have an ID/DC team creating the interaction framework. We are
looking for a consultancy to help us put the finish touches on the screens
to enhance it visually and increase the increasibility of the product even
more. The product will be a desktop application.

If you know of or have worked with a firm that you'd like to recommend in
the New York area, it'd be very appreciated.

Thank you!

Rankings of Countries on Level of Design

There is a report on how countries rate in their commitment and
execution of design.

Very interesting in the top 10.

I would have expected China and S. Korea in here, but I guess they
aren't as far along as the press would have us believe.

UK has fell off the top 10 list compared to 2002.
US holds strong at #2. While Japan took over the #1 spot jumping from #5.

discuss Digest, Vol 32, Issue 6

This is actually an excellent, if fairly complex question, since any
answer or discussion would depend upon the configuration, hiearchy,
workflow, and interdepartmental interrelationships within your (or
any) company.
