information navigation can be fun

This is really terrific:
http://www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html

Trying to figure out why...
- I think one thing is that so much space is given to navigating the space
and comparatively little is given to the leaf topics (just the box in the
lower right and the music itself).
- Responsiveness! zero latency = no reason to stop
- It's always fun to check out an old subject in a new way.
- You can multitask by listening to one item, while planning your next
selection.
- Some kind of interesting multi-channel juxtaposition going on.

UCD and Agile Programming - models of involvement

I have reviewed the previous postings regarding how Usability fits in with
Agile Programming and I have a slightly different question.

I am an Interaction Designer and have worked with Agile Programming teams in
two different ways. I was hoping people could comment on the methods and
provide any insight on preferred methods, etc.

1. On one project, the usability team would always be an iteration
ahead of the development team, creating storyboards and fleshing out
interaction details to hand off to the development team when they were
ready.

Recommendation for laptop for usability testing

Hi

We are planning user interviews and testing and plan to conduct this using
Techsmith's Morae. We want to ensure portability and also make sure that
Morae works well. I am looking for recommendations (knowledge or experience
based) for laptops that would support Morae suite nicely. Other programs
that might be used would be Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator and MS Visio
kinds.

Resources for the Business of Design?

I'm doing research into degree programs around the world that offer a
combined business/design degree of some kind. This might be a masters
in design management or design strategy, etc. I don't "business" as
in "running your design business" but how design is successful inside
a corporate structure (either as a client or as an in-house
developer).

Interactive Maps

Hi all,

Just curious if you could help me find some examples of interactive maps.
Google mash ups are nice but I'm thinking more of interactive maps created
in Flash.

Particularly anything with a lot of layered interaction. I.e. you point to a
specific city and a layered event occurs etc.

Thanks so much!

Adrian
