I'm reviewing the following GUI toolkits for .net. My client currently uses

Hypotheses about tasks (in online shopping)

Hi Robert

I have been struggling with similar thoughts specifically concerning
interactions on e-commerce sites. I too felt that I needed to de-construct
the magnitude/complexity/motivational issues in ways that could be
operationalised and tested more effectively.

Browser throbbers are broken

Browser throbbers are broken. These spinning, swirling, pulsing
artifacts were a great way of indicating state back when a web page
wasn't loaded until it was loaded, and once it was loaded it didn't
need to load any more.

But the Web 2.0 blah blah has crept up on us, and I suddenly find
myself waiting for pages to load with no indication of state. I
interact with pages, wait for a response, but find myself without any
idea of whether the connection is actually working, or how long it
might take to finish the transaction.

Hypotheses about tasks

OK - so after conversations with several people, all of whom I've been
talking with separately, here are some hypotheses that seem to be taking

1) "The difficulty of completing a task is a function of the number of steps
involved in the task and the time it takes to perform each step."

2) "The time it takes to perform each step in a task is a function of the
relative complexity of the step and a person's willingness and/or ability to
understand and complete the step."

3) "The more difficult a task, the less likely it is to be completed."

I think this is

IxDA "contact us" form is broken & list name suggestion

http://www.ixda.org/en/contact_us/ doesn't work properly.

I was about to send a suggestion via the feedback form, but after
submitting it: "Permission Denied. The URL http://www.ixda.org/en/
contact_us/ cannot access CIB. Check config file."

Anyway, here's the suggestion that the CIB didn't receive :)

Could the IxDA discussion list subject tag be capped simply into
[IxDA] please?

The current tag is rather long.

in-house UX consulting and UCD on iTV?

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering what are your thoughts on UI/UX consulting on
coworker’s projects. In other words, when a UI/UX Designer is leading a
project, how much others UX Designers should contribute? I believe that
UX decisions should be discussed at least by two or more UX experts.
What is your opinion?

Is anyone on this list doing interactive TV? If yes, what are your
thoughts or experience with UI development process for iTV?

Thank you,
Adriana Tavares
