semi theoretical Q and IxDA SD

I am in for IxDA San Diego!

funny that Daniel mentions "communicating design" as an advanced interaction design topic... I'm supposed to talk about this next week at our internal user experience symposium. There are so many ways you can go with it, since the topics can range from communicating the design between ourselves, with engineering, with customers, to stakeholders, etc.

Information discovery in 3D environments: looking for compelling examples

I work with some folks who are absolutely fascinated with 3D virtual
environments such as Second Life. Most of the applications we work on
are in the realm of traditional information retrieval: search engines,
library card catalogs, etc.

job: JavaScript/JSP Contractor for E-Commerce (Jones Apparel Group)

We are a Fortune 500 company in midtown Manhattan. We are looking for a contract, project-oriented web developer for our e-commerce group. We are initially looking to hire on a per-project basis; but this could easily become a long-term contract. Our properties include Barneys New York, Nine West & Easy Spirit.

We are in the process of moving from a legacy client-side codebase, to standards-based layouts with lots of JavaScript-powered interactivity. We are seeking a developer with a strong interest in building useable, attractive interfaces.

Sites with Multiple Sign Ons

Hi All,

I'm working with a client right now that has a site with multiple sign
ons that are very gradually migrating to a single sign on.

Does anyone know of any sites that currently have multiple sign ins
and also sites that are migrating to a single sign on.

Thanks much,

San Diego IxDA - Local Chapter

I'm considering helping start up a San Diego-area IxDA group and am just
wondering how many other people on this list might be interested in the same
thing ... either a San Diego group or perhaps one that meets in North San
Diego County as an Orange County/San Diego combination type of thing (North
County being more of a geographical mid-point.)

If you're interested, let me know!

A Semi-Theoretical Question

If there was a book that covered advanced topics in interaction
design, what would those topics be?

By "advanced" I mean, light on methods.
