NYC IxDA: Documenting RIAs, Dan Saffer (Adaptive Path)

Hi Everyone,

Adaptive Path's Dan Saffer comes to NYC next week to talk about Documenting
Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). We've already had great response from our
previous announcements, so we've got just a few seats left. Get your RSVPs
in soon! Also, after the talk, Adaptive Path will sponsor drinks at Eight
Mile Creek. Drinks are open to everyone, regardless of RSVP.

Sought: INTERNSHIP

Hi all,

After being on this list for around two months now and being
enthusiastic about the quality of discussion, I am glad to be able to
post my question here.

I am looking for a 3 months internship in the field of: Design for
Interaction / Information Architecture / Interface Design. Preferably in
the San Francisco bay area, but all places have my interest.

Transcription service recommendation

Hi all.

I'm planning a customer research project, and will need to hire a transcriptionist to record and provide transcripts of customer interviews that we'll be conducting over the phone. Does anyone have any recommendations for a transcription service?

Many thanks for you help!

[iai-members] from merchandise categories to attributes/facets

Austin,

Thanks, Austin. I respect your perspective and appreciate the questions. I
wanted to check the basics here to make sure I'm not missing anything.

M.O. for Attributes:
This is for retail ecommerce. The modus operandi are two: internal teams
can post products faster; and, customers select items more naturally by
attribute rather than by internal categories.
I'm new to the company, so i have specific requests out for the research
this project is based on.

New guy in corner over there smells funny... Toomuch cologne, probably.

"Question 1-
If a user doesn't notice a missing feature, is it really missing?"

Also, does the fact that it's missing classify as a feature?

Yet Another iPod Birth Story

For those who can't get enough of Apple Lore...

http://www.wired.com/news/columns/cultofmac/0,71956-0.html?tw=rss.index

Although I think this is probably not true:

"Given the device's parts, the iPod's final shape was obvious. All
the pieces sandwiched naturally together into a thin box about the
size of a pack of cards.

"Sometimes things are really clear from the materials they are made
from, and this was one of those times," said Rubinstein.
