Personas Personas Personas (was: New IxD)

<<I've only read The Persona Lifecycle, which was a
major disappointment. In fact, it's one of the most disappointing
books on my shelf (out of around 200+).>>

I read this book while attempting my first persona for a research project at SAS Institute. I found it fairly helpful in terms of learning about personas, but not terribly helpful in actually creating them.

Holiday Gift from Adobe: New Icons for their Apps

Bleech.

Perhaps the pumped-up color coding will make them easier to find, but all
square?!?

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Boston CHI: Professional Development Seminars 1/26

[ Apologies if you receive more than one of these. ]

Greetings,

I hope your holiday preparations are going well.

I wanted to take a moment and let you know about the Boston CHI
chapter's Professional Development Seminars, held in Burlington, MA on
January 26. The chapter folks have put together a program that looks
top-notch at a great price. If you register by 1/5, you can take any
of the full-day tutorials for only $165. ($180 if you're not a Boston
CHI member, which includes the $15 annual membership.)

Personas Personas Personas

What about "innovation"?

BusinessWeek even added a quarterly addition to their magazine about
Innovation.

Personally, I find "personae" so uninteresting.

Personas Personas Personas (was: New IxD Techniques to Try in 2007)

"Personas" was this years' UX Buzzword.

Anyone read either of the two books that came out solely dedicated to
persona creation?

The User is Always Right: A Practical Guide to Creating Personas for
the Web
The Persona Lifecycle : Keeping People in Mind Throughout Product Design

App's and stages

Seems that there is a quite a range on this group as to what we are
all applying our interaction models and practices to. For me, I spend
a lot of time in basic web 1.0 models involving facilitation of
commerce. In these cases the interactions must be largely expected
and predictable by the users and the designers. We do not have a lot
of time for our "users" to learn or adjust. Others seem to be
developing interactions that are for more dedicated users. Those that
will repeat these interactions or even be trained for them.
