Any IxD in the list fluent in French IxD?

Hi,

Has any of you are practitioner in French world?

What is the terminology used for Interaction design, User experience
design and Strategic design in design consulting in France?

It seems that all they do is ergonomics/usability (practitioner) or
Human-to-Machine Interaction (academia Intéraction Homme Machine).

If you can speak about our discipline other then in these words, I
will appreciate your input. Or does what we do boils down in the end
to Human-to-Machine Interaction (according to French)?

2007 Conferences

I have a limited training budget available, and I'm interested in both
the IA Summit (March) and the UPA Conference (June). The session
descriptions are up for IA and look outstanding, but UPA's won't be up
until late Feb! How do I decide? Which would have more recent,
non-published ideas and materials (my thinking is, I can always buy
related books if I can't attend).

Sketching vs. Prototyping: Bill Buxton (was Flash vs. Flex)

A couple of people have asked for more info on Bill Buxton and Sketching.

Bill has written a yet to be published book called "Sketching User
Experience". Some pre-marketing to that book was a presentation to the
Boston ACM-CHI group and Jared Spool had a nice write up that I reference
in the above link.

Flash vs. Flex

I'm guessing Dave will have an opinion on this... :-)

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to stick with
Flash (our current prototyping tool) or move to Flex.
I purchased Flex, and it seems powerful, but at the same
time, it was a little more difficult to create an interactive
prototype. Also Flex lacks any layout guides, rulers, etc.
that are present in Flash.

But, if Adobe is moving in the direction of focusing Flash
more on Animation and Flex more on interaction, applications,
I don't want to be left behind, and wonder if we should
invest further in Flex now to be prepared.

education on new feature, was [Invitation] @ Thu Jan 25 22:30 - 23:30 (1 hr)

I apologize for this, a feature I hadnt noticed before popped up in my
gmail, "add event info"

Being the curious type I clicked it in part of replying to Dave. It
somehow pulled in an account setup by our admin for a group potluck
event in December. I didnt notice - apologies to the group.

Now the question I have, apart from my own carelessness, is are there
any guidelines on introducing features?
