What attributes do I add to my team next?

Two great attributes Pauric!

>All things being equal on paper I would looks towards the one who can best
>communicate their ideas.

A way undervalued skill. Design schools should be teaching this. Business schools as well (how many bad powerpoint decks must we suffer through?)

>I would feel that they dont necessarily need to be the best skills match for
>the team, but the one the team likes the most.

This is a video of a lecture that Jans-Christophe gave introducing IxD to
a mixed group of designers and others. Thought people might be interested.

Coding and IxD (was: What sets the 'best'interaction designers apart?)

"during those conversations where you're trying to talk developers into
doing something and they're debating the feasibility of the solution."

Does it also depend on the developer?

I have met developers who only see problems in designs (impossible to
implement, cannot do it, wont work etc) Have also met developers who see
opportunities to innovate and push the technology to its limit. And some in
between.

Perhaps it also depends how the team is situated. Suggest that there would
be fantastic synergies if you had a designer, developer pair working on a
UI.

use of color in a web app

I work for a small development shop and we are currently working on a
web app whose primary users will be homeowners and interior
designers. Our client has hired a design company to develop the
company branding and visual design for the site. Our team has handled
everything else, including interaction design (though, none of us are
trained in this). I have run into some trouble regarding colors.

The primary colors on the design comps are red, grey, and black.
