Visual Design Recommendations

I'm looking for either a visual designer contractor who can work on
an as-needed basis or a visual design firm. I'm hoping to find
someone who has worked with interaction designers before and can help
with branding issues and polishing the overall visual design.
Ideally, this person would be in the SF bay area. Does anyone have
any recommendations?

Museum of Lost Interactions

I'd always subconsciously thought of the interactions available to
designers as accreting over time - a pile of ever increasing bounty.

But looking at this exhibit made me realise that there are design
opportunities that disappear, possibly through cultural change, but
also because the technology changes, and so can no longer support the
old design and pattern of interaction.

Request: Online Pattern Libraries/Style Guides?

Yahoo's public pattern library is a great model, and I've certainly
derived lots of inspiration from it, but I'm wondering if there are
any other world-class examples for public consumption? If you know of
one, let me know off-list, and I'll compile and post.

Nice Input Device - I/O Brush

Scroll for videos

"Most drawing tools/pens we use today allow only a one-way flow of
ink, and we are oblivious to how the content of the tool came to
exist inside. What if we could not only have control over the outflow
of the ink, but also have influence on what goes inside? Indeed, old
fountain pens served as both tools to pick up and release the ink,
and paintbrushes still preserve that function.

The project starts NOW, and is likely to continue for just a week or so.

If you can help (or if you would just like a few more details to help you
decide) please send me an email. Please do not reply to the list.
