Load time as a UX factor

Hi IxDA family,

I'd like to ask for your valued feedback and additional resources on "load time as a UX factor":

http://meiert.com/en/blog/20070621/load-time-the-ux-factor-facts-and-measures/

I'm aware of additional research on that matter, but all of it appears to be at least three years old, so I wonder if you know about current research (that presumably supports old findings, though ...).

Thank you, best regards,
Jens.

Ideas for transitional effects in graphs

Hi -

Our team is exploring ways to effectively show transitional effects in
graphs (i.e., bars, lines, pies, etc...). That is, as the underyling
graph data change in realtime, we want to show the transition taking place,
through animation.

I made my pledge

First, I want to thank all the donators. It is great that for the last
2 days we have more than made our gaols. It says a lot about how much
we have achieved as an organization that we have gotten so much
generous support from both individuals and organizations.

I also really want to thank those who have taken the further step of
expressing WHY they support IxDA.

Request for review of process

Hi there,

As I posted I've been working on a user-centered development process. I took
some input that some of you provided as well as some of my own ideas. It
would be helpful to get some comments back if you're willing. It is meant to
be a guide to work for both a software development project or a website
redesign. At the bottom is a line showing where it would map to the
Microsoft Solutions Framework phases. I should mention the dot on some items
means optional - it may already exist or for said project or may not need to
be done.

Any comments are very much appreciated, good or bad.
