Company C is an integrated direct and interactive marketing agency in
downtown New York servicing Fortune 100 clients. We recently re-branded
ourselves after 20 years of providing services as Chinnici Direct, primarily
a direct marketing house. Our client list for interactive projects is
growing, and our current focus is on the Travel, Financial Services and
Communications industries - although that list is growing as well.

Is the IXDA a well-kept secret? (was: Interesting Article About Usability as a Career in New York Times.)

The article that Harvinder mentioned gives a nice introduction to our
profession for those not in the know.

(UPA) was mentioned, but not the IXDA.

What Women Want (was: iPhone usability tests)

NYT had an article a while ago about what women want in their
products. It's unfortunately now an article you have to pay for.

I was able to grab some of it:

"Only a few years ago, feminizing a consumer electronic product meant
little more than creating a pink or pastel version of the same black
or silvery item coveted by men. And, some retailers note, that kind
of marketing still goes on.

iPhone usability tests

User Centric released a summary of the results of their early
usability study they performed on the iPhone. I liked how the keyboard
while "frustrating" performed better than comparable systems. The list
of strengths was a longer than its weaknesses.

"do you like it?"
"It has the same number of problems as any other phone smart or
otherwise I have owned, but 10x's the enjoyment.

Chicago needs a local IxDA group... join us!

Are there others in the Chicagoland area that are interested in attending
local IxDA gatherings and events? Your interest could range from planning
events, speaking at an event, attending... or just feeling happy, knowing
there is a local group here.

If any of the above fit you, please email me off-list so I can gauge
interest. Also let me know if there are any topics of particular interest
that you haven't found a local forum for as of yet.
