Req: Asynchronous file uplod and error correction patterns

I am currently working on a project where the user is uploading a spreadsheet file to the site, the system processes this file over the course of a few hours and generates a list of errors for correction, the user is then able to correct the errors generated either online or by downloading the errors and reuploading with the corrections.

I am looking for any application examples (offline/online), papers, etc on solutions that people have seen for file posting and bulk error correction.
