Haptikos tactile touch screen technology

Some of you may have already seen this:

I wonder if this "0.1mm movement" follows the graphical shape behind
it? Use shades of grey to tell the 'height' of a button maybe? Would
that be of any help at these levels?

In any case interesting stuff.

reflection and discourse

IxDAers,

As one of the discussions turned negative yesterday I made an attempt
to shift the tone of the conversation to one that could be more open
and productive. I love and appreciate the passion, the discourse, and
even the heated arguments within this community. Every member of this
community should feel open to explore, inquire and experiment with
the tools and methods regardless of the outcome. That is how we
learn. I think it is a crucial ingredient to growing this discipline.
In a subsequent message I made the mistake of letting it get
personal.

How to handle clients...

...that are making suggestions to the structure of a website that are bad and will screw everything up?

I'm currently working on a project for a smaller website (with a tight budget). I've done a couple of workshops and have had some discussions with the clients project group to come up with a working information structure for the site. Everything came together and we agreed on a structure.
