Digital Instrument Interfaces

Did anyone else see Daft Punk rocking out at the Grammys? They played the
coolest instruments I've ever seen - four multitouch screens with various
graphical elements controlling an array of synth and software backend. (

video ) Further research uncovered this: the Lemur by JazzMutant (

music, sound manipulation, and visualization, take a look.

Tomorrow night Adaptive Path is hosting an after-work soiree at Hotel

Dave,

Are you referring to this bit: "How good of a designer we are [..] is directly related to how well we convey our thought process [..] that you can trace and one that is based on personal intellect"?

I agree with the first bit (the idea that you have to be able to supply arguments with your design, explaining why it is a good design) but not with what I think is the second bit (the idea that only intellectuals can come up with a concept?).

But maybe I misread Tim...

Participate in a research project with Adaptive Path

Howdy,

Adaptive Path is working on a project right now for a company that is
developing tools for UX folks and front-end devs. We're trying to
talk with a wide range of folks who are creating what we're loosely
calling "Rich Internet Applications (RIA)." What we really mean is
people and companies that are at the forefront of creating the new
breed of internet applications, especially using technologies like
Ajax, Flash, Flex, AIR, WPF, Silverlight, etc. that allow for really
rich, interactive experiences. But this isn't just about
technology.

"Product Experience" (book)

A new book is coming on entitled "Product Experience".

It seems to be a classic user experience book but with a twist. Instead of
Human-Computer Interaction it talks about Product-Human Interaction.
I never heard the phrase before, but it really speaks to me in terms of
re-thinking our research.
