Resources for new usability managers

Hi folks,

Can anyone recommend coursework, books or other resources to help managers
understand how to handle IxD / usability professionals and manage the user
experience? (Not so much the methodology, but direct guidance on resource
planning, logistics, evangelizing usability, budget, performance metrics,
etc.)

NYC IxDA's January event FINALLY available on video

This was posted to the internet I learned awhile ago, but just found out
about it.
I'm really excited though to finally be able to offer this resource to
everyone, as this event this past January was one of my favorite events in
NYC IxDA ever.

As a recap the event was a panel discussion on Sustainable Interactions. It
was an amazing look at the role interaction design can and should play in
providing solutions to aid in the creation of sustainable products and
services.

– I have been through a few dozen large e-commerce sites today, and
having a very hard time finding examples that I would consider "good".

Branding / Identity awareness: examples of testing change?

An organization is changing its branding/identity.

Can anyone point me to examples of

1) how to test brand awareness-- when there is a change?
2) any case studies of what happened when organizations changed identity/look
and feel of web properties-- what was the result in terms of user acceptance,
user recognition?

Open format between Visio and Omnigraffle?

After observing the list for a while, it's clear that our community is split
between Visio users on PCs and Omnigraffle users on Macs. Is there a format
common to both Visio and Omnigraffle with which we can publish stencils,
templates, etc. so we don't have to duplicate our efforts? Alternatively,
are there simple converters between the two formats?
