Seeking user experience copywriter (SF, contractor)

Hi all -
I'm looking for someone who can come in and help me craft some concise,
easy-to-read instructions and inline text for a registration workflow and
some web-based administration pages.

I'm pretty happy with our workflows, but writing great copy isn't my
specialty. I'm not looking for "marketing-ese" -- my focus in on simple,
usable, understandable, "even if you don't read you'll still get it" copy.

My company is located in San Francisco, but it's not necessary for you to be
on-site.

Elizabeth,

To be honest, unless you've got just two audience segments (personas) then
I'd suggest you look at whether or not you can talk to all of them in some
form. Barring that, I'd suggest around 10 users per estimated persona. As a
minimum, I'd be aiming at 24-30.

Visualizing Connections on Social Networks

Are there any social networking sites that allow you to dynamically
visualize your social networks? Are there any that allow you to "tag" your
ties to all the people on your social network graph? The research and
ability is out there - just look at visualcomplexity.com, but my question is
- why can't I navigate through my social networks on LinkedIn, Facebook,
Twitter, Gather, or anywhere else like I can navigate words in
VisualThesaurus.

online shopping - checkout experience

I'm curious about "checkout". Is anyone else also interested in this,
or am I the nerd at the party right now?

I've experienced some good and some not so good (ok, I'll say it: horrible).

Most recently I've been impressed with the checkout experience offered
by the out-the-box design in Magento (a free, open-source online
shopping system).

It appears to be a "one-page" checkout, showing you right off the bat
that there are 6 things to go over during checkout (maybe a bit much for
the top-level steps in the process): 1. Checkout Method, 2. Billing
Information, 3.

Behavioral patterns of an online gamer: references/experiences share needed

Hi all,

I need references on behavioral patterns or any statistical information on features usage patterns of an online gamer. Any experiences/thoughts are most welcome. Tried searching stuff online, but I couldn't figure out how to access stuff on NCBI and didn't find much on ACM either.

Any pointers?
