prototype philosophy

Great article on the business week site today about design...

http://www.businessweek.com/innovate/content/jul2008/id20080728_623527.htm?chan=innovation_innovation+%2B+design_top+stories

Near the end of the article Claudia Kotchka talks about prototype workshops...

"Participants get scared using such rough prototypes to elicit
consumer feedback at the beginning, but they are won over when they
see the benefits of co-creation," says Kotchka.

Usability testing on the cheap- Silverback, ?

Hey all, I'm doing some research on different tiers of usability testing,
and I love the new Silverback app that Clear Left just put out (
http://www.silverbackapp.com/) as a potential lower-end solution (we already
have partnerships in place for the high-end services). Are there any other
apps like Silverback out there? What do you guys use?

Attribution language & placement

I hope I'm not treading in sensitive waters here; please feel free to
respond off-list if you'd rather not make your response public.

I'll be including some icons in our next product version that are
available under the Creative Commons attribution license. It appears
that free use of these icons is allowed for the use we need as long as
the creator is noted, with a link to their website.

Can anyone share attribution language they've used, or the location(s)
it's been placed? We're discussing options and I'd like to go with the
industry standard, if there is one.

Thanks,
Sarah Kampman
