37 Signals name

Actually, it has nothing to do with the original team. It's from the SETI project.

>From 37Signals' company manifesto

"Mankind constantly analyzes radio waves from outer
space in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Since this
analysis started, almost all of the signal sources have been
identified. 37 signals, however, remain unexplained."

They named their company 37Signals because "37" was their original team
size. I guess, I remember reading it on their blog or elsewhere.

Collaboration: Presentations from the Boston IxDA nanoConference

Boston IxDA is pleased to announce the release of the collaboration based
presentations from our nanoConference earlier this year...

Collaboration is a key skill-set for any designer and we had a number of
perspectives on the importance on communicating effectively with other
members of our teams

Ian Muir gave a very witty breakdown of the Designer-Developer relationship.
He had the audience laughing and nodding sagely at the same time.
Essentially its about understanding the gaps in the re

Siteseeing: What happens in Vegas...

...becomes a kiosk confessional where you can tell the world what was
supposed to stay in Vegas.

Sadly, the concept is undermined by a distinct lack of juicy
confessions (example: "Having the time of our lives!") and a weirdly
clunky interface.

Here's what I'm wondering: I think this would be more fun if they
implemented a negative ratings system, where viewers (assuming there
are any) punish people for not being forthcoming with genuine dirt.

Collaborative HTML Prototyping

I looking for a way of collaborating with a team on producing HTML prototypes.

I'm after something fairly lightweight.

I'd like there to be only a single instance of the prototype (i.e. no
emailing it to eachother).

Anyone got any advice?

Training on Mobile Interaction Design

I occasionally notice that there are questions about training courses
on interaction design and/ or specific questions about how to design
on small screens. We at Idean have received during the years plenty of
requests to create a specific training package for mobile interaction
design and practices in general. To answer the the call we have now
opened a Idean Academy for practical training on user research,
co-creation, mobile UI design and interaction design.

I would like to hear your comments on the modules and content.
