Why designers fail: the results

As promised, the survey results with some basic analysis is up at:

http://www.scottberkun.com/blog/2008/why-designers-fail-the-report/

We had 389 people respond: Almost 34% were designers, the rest were a mix of
project managers, programmers, usability engineers and others.

Prize winners will be announced this week. Thanks to all that contributed
and help spread the word.

2nd CFP: Best Practices in Longitudinal Research (Workshop @ CHI 2009)

CFP: CHI 2009 Workshop: Best Practices in Longitudinal Research

Submission Deadline: Thurs, Oct 23, 2008, 5pm PDT

Workshop overview
------------------

Traditional user research and evaluation methods tend to focus on
'first-time' experiences with products, which trends the results towards
discoverability problems, rather than usability concerns that may persist
over time. This workshop will extend current thinking by an in-depth
discussion of methods and metrics for longitudinal data collection.
