Inspired by Interaction09?

What an amazing weekend. First off, many thanks to Greg Petroff, the Simon
Fraser University team, and every committee member and volunteer for
creating a space for such amazing speakers and workshops.

My mind is racing right now. I don't want this energy to fade, I want all
the ideas I wrote down to actually take a life outside of my notebook.

The future of displaying non-system fonts on web

Hello all,

I am wondering if any of you know of existing or upcoming
technologies, which would enable display of rich typography
(non-system fonts) on websites - without the user having the
particular font installed on his computer and still preserving the
text copy+paste function?

Different actions on multiple data types

I have a list containing two types of data elements (say A & B). Some
actions (say 1 & 2) can be performed on Type A only, some (say 3 & 4) on
Type B only and some (say 5 & 6) on both Type A & Type B. What would be the
best UI to display these interactions? It would be awkward if only the
allowed actions are enabled based on the items selected. Its not possible to
separate the two types of data elements.

E-Commerce site - but no categories - so bad SEO?

I'm creating a very large e-commerce site that's expected to
eventually have tens of thousands, perhaps more, entries. It is for
an industry that is heavily categorized, but every supplier has
totally different categories, so they effectively become meaningless.
So we're going to put it all together without categories, or at least
without a category tree model. It's search engine only, baby. All
those former categories are now keywords, effectively allowing one
item to be in dozens of categories.

I'm worried about how sites like Google will index ours. Even if
