Its Just UX

During the closing plenary of the IA Summit on Sunday, Jesse James
Garrett said that “Information Architecture is not a profession …
and neither is Interaction Design … we have and always will be User
Experience Designers”. I’m paraphrasing a little from memory (the
podcast isn’t out yet) - but the gist is there.

I’m a big believer in this viewpoint (and I chaired the IA Summit

Carousel + Filters

I am doing a research on carousels interactions.

Does anyone knows where I can find an examples of a carousel design
using some of filters to sort the contents?

When to use icons and when to use text

We are redesigning a web application for collaborative review of
design work.

We currently use text-based buttons for drop-down menus e.g. File |
Versions | Workspaces etc.

We are having a raging debate about whether to switch from text to
icons for some of the key functions and pull them out of the menus
Compare Versions - users can compare two versions of a design side by
Upload New Version - upload a new version of a design.
New Person - add a new person as a team member.

What are the pros and cons of icons vs. text-based buttons.

What sites do you feel have the best and worst interaction design?

Hi I just wanted to reach out to the IxDA community and see what sites
they feel have the best and worst interaction design. It can just be a
component of the site too...
