Even Google's not immune to bad design

Looking for a place to post the ole resume. Someone mentions Google
Page. Googled that:

I read:
"We are no longer accepting new sign-ups for Page Creator because we
have shifted our focus to developing Google Sites, which offers many
of the capabilities of Page Creator along with..." etc. along with
paragraphs of more information about the change.

'Fine', I think as a user. 'I'll use Google Sites, whatever'.

Nice Research on Persona Effectiveness

I know that members on this list are dubious about using personas in
the design process.

Here's a nice, solid research paper by Frank Long at NCAD in Dublin
that shows how they can improve team dynamics:

> Real or imaginary: The effectiveness of using personas in the
> product design process.
> As you know, the use of personas as a method for communicating user
> requirements in collaborative design environments is well
> established.

IxDA = Interface Design

or not? if not... the area is too large... that's a progettista...

mi dispiace, ma la vendetta è un piato che se serve fredo.

€100,000 per year salary... is it too much?

is IxDA just pure branding and money or a honest new field of Design?

IxDA discussion widget idea

What do people think of an IxDA desktop/dashboard widget that would
give members a view into what discussions were currently active on
the discussion board?

Frequently I will see an email come by the list about a topic I am
interested in, only to have to repeatedly check the website to see if
anyone has contributed to the thread.

Perhaps there is a more elegant/simpler solution to this that is
escaping me, but I thought a small app that displayed active
discussions and allowed you to tag those you want to "follow" would
be a time-saver.

Review of ProtoFarm

I just attended Protofarm this evening and had a few comments about the
event and how to make future Farm events more effective.

Overall, there were a few good presos - I particularly enjoyed Tellme
talking about the Mobile Phone Sleeve and bringing their paper prototype to
life with a live demo, the talk about the Person prototype for GPS research,
the Axure prototype, PPT prototype, and Arduino.
