Meaning of Hard Coding Colors?

Hi,

I have seen that it is recommended to avoid hard coding colors.  Does anyone know what exactly hard coding colors means?  Any specific examples are appreciated.

Thank you,

IxD event at 10th National Design Awards

Just received information on this event but it looks interesting hosted the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and a part of the 10th Annual National Design Awards. Perceptive Pixel won the Interaction Design award (http://bit.ly/2HtFFh). There seems to be several other FREE public programs (http://bit.ly/3UH7Et) occurring with Jeff Han (of PP) giving a talk on the Future of Interaction Design.

Anyone in the DC area may want to give it a look. I’m very tempted to head down myself.

Expression Blend 3.0 with SketchFlow ReleasedToday

And I want Omnigraffle for my PC! Why can't I have it?? I pay my taxes!..

More importantly, what I really would like is for my team to design and
develop iPhone apps, on our PCs. That would be fantastic. But I can't.

Expression Blend 3.0 with SketchFlow Released Today

This is a bit of a self-serving post but probably of interest to many IXDA folks.

Today the first public version of Expression Blend 3.0 was released. Included is a new feature called SketchFlow which is designed for dynamic-prototyping.

If you're a fan of Bill Buxton and his ideas put forth on Sketching for User Experience in his book and past IxDA talks SketchFlow is worth checking out. It's got fantastic features to allow designers to bring sketches to life and build complex prototypes in an rapid and iterative process without having to resort to code.
