Any interest in a Collaboration & Distributed Design Team topic for Interaction10?

My associate and I are planning to submit a proposal on ‘Collaboration
& Distributed Design Teams’ for the Interaction10 conference in
Savannah. We think we have enough material for a Presentation-style
of session, but we wonder if there is sufficient interest in a Group
Discussion-style session instead.

Do you work in a geographically dispersed design organization? Is
part of your team composed of external contractors? Are you
separated by more than just time zones and telephones? How do
language, culture, and technology affect our ability to collaborate?

SXSW Panel Picker- The Neurobiology of Optimal Human Design .. please vote

Hey everyone:
I've got one panel for SXSW consideration this year, please take a moment to
review, register & vote if you feel it deserves to be added to the menu.

*The Neurobiology of Optimal Human Experience Design*
We'll examine the biology of the human experience, the triggers employed to
create an optimal experience as it relates to interface design, marketing,
and retail spaces, and how to integrate these common factors into ones
product to impact positive emotional association, memory, and thus increase

The Audacity of Context

Hey geeks! If words like media syndication, context and fanagment give
you a thrill, then vote for our panel at SXSW.

Here is the link!

BTW: We made up the word "fanagment".

SXSW Panel Picker- please vote for my panels!!!

Hey all,
I have two panels up for consideration this year:

Devil in the Details: Appropriate Wireframe Fidelity:
Wireframes can be executed in many different ways; From hand-drawn napkin
doodles to very precise layouts. Is one better than the other? When is the
right time to do a sketchy wireframe versus a high-fidelity one? When should
you take it to the next level and turn it into a functional prototype? As
the nature of the web and the way we use it changes and adapts to advances
in technology, so too do we need to change and adapt how we define user
experiences on the web.

Has anyone developed on this? The license for the software alone is
$20k, so clearly this is not for low-end sites. However, for
mid-range sites with budgets between $50k-$100k, does anyone know if
that $20k is worth it relative to an open-source CMS?

Netbooks lead the way on how we%u2019ll be using our mobile phones in the near future

What if your phone was a removable part of your netbook. Ala the
"Folio" by Palm. I think their implementation and specs were off,
but I think the idea has huge possibilities. Take a razor sized
iPhone that can slip into a "netbook" sized form-factor keyboard &
screen ( ports, mic & camera) and damn! you've got quite the

Further, when docked the phone can gain access to extra CPU cycles
AND extra RAM/GPU support as well.

I don't know why no one has done this yet.

Website UI competitive analysis

I've been tasked with documenting how one of my company's user
interfaces compares with our top three competitors, as a way of
understanding where we excel, where we need improvement, and where we
are roughly equal. The business goal is to more fully understand the
UI conventions used by these sites so we better anticipate what
customers coming to us from the competition bring in the way of

Rates affected by downturn? - Survey

Thanks for the interest in my last message. A member of my local group
in San Francisco suggested Survey Monkey.

I've created a brief questionnaire, which you can find here:

If interested, please complete by the end of this week and I'll send out

(This is not an official IxDA survey and of course, is completely

Fundamental interactions?

I seem to recall reading an article some time ago about "fundamental"
interactions. I think there were 5:
1) Create content
2) Modify content
3) Navigate content
4) ...
5) ...

Does anyone know what the others are? Am I remembering this wrong?
