Scrollbar Down Button and Shift Direction

I have an interesting observation on the scrolling behaviour in the
iTunes Store Featured Product box. When you click on the DOWN arrow,
it will shift the content down instead of up. The commonly
anticipated behaviour should be shifting up to reveal more content
below the fold. I posted a screen capture on my blog for better
illustration: http://www.calvin-c.com/blog/itunes-scroll

My question is: is it just me, or it is a real annoyance for most
users? Is there a valid argument to support such design pattern?

[JOB] FBML Developer needed for contract in Boston!

I have an immediate client need for a developer with Facebook markup
language (FBML) experience and has created at least one fan page for
a well known company. My client currently has a fan page, but it
needs a serious facelift! This developer will work along side a
designer to create mock ups, and may not have much direction to start
with, so someone who can coach our client is key.

Influencing user behavior

Just saw this on the news this morning and couldn't help but think of the
"conversations" that were held this year regarding whether or not behavior
is our medium.

These are stairs installed at the Odenplan station in Stockholm.

Setting up a UX conference in Lisbon - needadvice and ideas

On a personal note, I've combined Lisbon and a conference before,
neuroscience conference as it happened, and it was fantastic. There was
more than enough to keep my wife happy while I was at the conference
(she's definitely the more cultured of the two of us), and the city
itself is amazing!

The only two things I'd offer from my experience is, don't walk
anywhere: everything is uphill (both ways) and the cobbles are very
slick making it a bit of a slide rather than saunter, and don't (for the
love of $deity) drive: not unless you have nerves of steel, and know
where your horn is!

Different navigation for the About Us section of a corporate website

To me, it all depends on where you place About Us in the framework of
the whole site-family. If, as you call it, it is merely a section, a
new primary navigation would appear to be disorienting.
