Trust and URLs

I am fishing for some information about general public and URLs

Here is an example for me to ask my question:

Say there is a domain name of ‘fruit.com’. They deal with the general
public (not B2B).
‘Fruit.com’ wants to set up a site called ‘pear.com’.
When someone types in ‘pear.com’ they are redirected to

Any repercussions from the users/visitors? Trust issues? Confusion?
Don’t notice?

I'm studying Interaction Design at the Utrecht School of Art and
Technology in the Netherlands. Currently I'm a second year student.

In August 2010 I would like to go to New Zealand for an internship.
But I'm still looking for a company.

I'm mostly interested in the physical interaction, product design
and conceptual side of Interaction Design.

My question is: Does somebody know an Interaction Design company in

Thank you!

Online tools (Possibly free ware) that we can use to create a knowledge base of glossary

Hi All

Merry Christmas ! I am currently working on a project that involves compiling glossary and acronyms used extensively across our company. I am looking for inputs from similar projects that you may be doing or have done in the past and that enables us to use a search engine that can help anyone locate a particular acronym or glossary term.

The challenge is to collaborate with various teams that can be part of the database and contribute to as a team.

Any information will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Interest in UXCampAustin 2010?

...and while it's top of mind...

I'm fixin' to (as we say in Texas) put together a UXCampAustin. Aiming for Mar-Apr.

I participated in ProductCampAustin this fall and it was a great experience. I know that some folks ran a UXCampLondon recently. Maybe we can get some advice and counsel from them.

Please contact me if you're interested in helping put on this "un" conference.

How can I get the best out of a UX discovery workshop

I'm starting on a project in the New Year where the client has
arranged a 3 hour UX discovery meeting with 20 stakeholders right at
the beginning of the project before I've had any real time to do my
own research.

The client's objectives for the meeting are to define the personas
and user journeys and the first draft of the structure for the site.

After the meeting I will have an opportunity to conduct one-on-one

The project itself is to develop a fairly laborious offline
application process into a streamlined online process.
