Submissions for UX Lx are now open

Just to let everyone know that UX Lx (User Experience Lisbon) has now
opened submissions for the 12 Open Sessions slots. Submissions are
open until the end of January 2010 and will then be chosen by the UX
Lx organizing committee.

This is a perfect opportunity for you fellow IxDAers to present your
ideas, research and findings before an international audience and
amongst industry leaders. And in the beautiful, sunny city of Lisbon,
Portugal.

I hope to see a lot of submissions coming from fellow IxDA members.

Interested?

UX consistency

Are you creating a new UI that is different than the existing UIs, or
are you picking one of the existing ones and calling that the
"standard"? Or are you just documenting the existing UIs using a
common documentation format?

are we an early indicator of economic recovery?

I've been watching the job announcements on this forum and there seems
to be an uptick in the last couple of months.

My theory is that skill sets in high demand can be an early indicator
of economic recovery. I am measuring this based upon salary and my
perception of unemployment in amongst our profession. I honestly don't
know to many Ixd's that are unemployed. Not very scientific... but
that is what I am operating with and basing my hunch upon.

Just wondering your thoughts. Is there an increased demand for what we
do in these recent months?

Dave Malouf on Gizmodo.com

I happened across this post on Gizmodo.

http://gizmodo.com/5429265/the-ten-netbook-positions-of-exquisite-pain

It's a great look into the 'life' of a netbook and netbook user. I
just wanted to pass the kudos along and let the group know it showed
up in the blogsphere.
