IxDA Student Organization

Hello, I am a student at the University of Cincinnati, and am planning
to start an IxDA student organization- however, I am trying to figure
out what we would actually do, outside of hosting speakers and
creating an IxDesign elective+curriculum, as to apply for funding as
a student group, we need to list out our purposes as a group. So I
guess I am wondering, what would you expect a student group for
IxDesign to actually do?

(Date correction) Interaction'11 venue announcement, and registration savings for a limited time

Hi,

There was a mistake in the dates announced yesterday for I'11 in
Boulder. The conference starts on Feb. 10th (not 9th) and runs to
Feb. 12th, 2011. Sorry for any confusion. At least we have a year to
work through the kinks!

List Spam (was: Smart-HDL: Build your Brand)

I suspect that the moderators are a little preoccupied with the
Interaction conference at the moment. I trust they'll take care of the
spammer when they're back from Savannah.

Auditive/Haptic feedback - good for car touch screens?

Hi,
I am investigating a concept for the center stack of a car. Does
anyone know what effects auditive and/or haptic feedback on car touch
screens - have on the user experience?

The concern is that the driver is already affected by things like
bumps, vibrations and sounds.

So, if there is a touch screen in the car (similar to iPhone), how is
'added' sound or haptic feedback experienced?

Ex Scenario.
The driver wants to select a new song.
He drags a list (think iPhone) to choose a new song.
If there is auditive or haptic feedback -ex.
