Content and ecommerce?

Hi,

I'm currently working on a new content framework of an ecommerce site and
can show how the content fits the needs for various user journies. I also
have some stats that show content usage but the are unconclusive.

Does anyone have or know of some good solid number based arguments for the
importance of well constructed content as part of the selling process. The
focus is mainly on editoral style content with guides.

Location/Geographic Search Design Patterns

Hi folks,

I'm working on a project that requires users to be able to search
for a teacher or school (for yoga, but that's not really important)
within their neighbourhood.

Using ellipsis in menu, context menus or buttons

i have a question about when i should use ellipsis for commands in
menus, contextual menus and buttons in desktop applications (in
Java).

Sadly, the guidelines of microsoft and mac osx are different about
this topic.
I have found some interesting links in the web but nothing could
answer my questions...

****

Microsoft writtes, that ellipsis should be used, when:

"Proper use of ellipses is important to indicate that users can make
further choices before performing the action, or even cancel the
action entirely.

Can someone point me to some patterns for Alpha numeric filters for text

HCI Masters in the UK - City University vs. University of York

Hello,

I recently got offers from City University and the University of York
to pursue an MSc in HCI.

I am really torn between which university to attend because both seem
to have excellent masters programs. Does anybody have any experience
or feedback regarding the two programs and universities?

http://www.cs.york.ac.uk/postgraduate/taught-courses/msc-hcit/
http://www.soi.city.ac.uk/pgcourses/hcs/index.html

Any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks,
k
