Scholarships/Grants for Grad School

I'm in the process of applying for grad school, looking to learn about and study the usability of public transit systems. This is cross-disciplinary, but a big component of it is masters-level training in UX/Interaction Design. Would anyone happen to know of good scholarships/grants to chase for work in this area?

Interaction design pioneer Bill Verplank joins keynote series for IxDA’s Interaction11 conference

Howdy interaction designers and the people who love them!

Bill Verplank--a man known for sketching as he talks--has a long career spanning design, research, and education. He spent time at Xerox on The Desktop Metaphor, worked with Bill Moggridge at IDTwo & IDEO pioneering our field, innovated design methods, researched haptics, and lots more. He’s also spent many years educating and lecturing on human factors, user-interface design, and most recently “new music controllers” at Stanford’s CCRMA... And lots more!

Multi-Select Drop-Downs

Looking for some great examples of multi-select drop downs that work across browsers. I know they're out there and I've found a few but I'm sure I've missed somthing.

Thanks

Buttons are dead, Google killed them

Hello everyone.

I've made a post on some thoughts about the user experience and UI handling at google.com homepage following the adoption of Instant search.

I think google need to ditch the 'Google Search' and "i'm feeling lucky' buttons which is absolutely unnecessary with the google Instant experience.

here is my post http://pebam.info/2010/09/15/google-instant-the-death-of-buttons/

Kindly have a look.

Thanks

Re: [IxDA] Direct to Code Wireframing

3. I have worked in shops in which designers threw Photoshop files, JPGs, or something similar over the wall to developers.  Because of the differences in emphases and priorities between interaction designers and developers, the results were generally disastrous.  Of course, this is the extreme end of the spectrum, but hopefully, you get the point.
