User Interface Design Trends

What do you see as the current or emerging trends in user interface design.  I don't mean the big changes like gestural interfaces, mobile devices, social networking, etc - I mean the more specific changes to the information architecture and graphical design of screens across devices/platforms?

Barely Used GuiMags for sale...or maybe Free to a good home.

GuiMags are clever rapid UI wireframe prototype tools, instead of drawing common elements like buttons, you just stick one of these common UI elements like fields, tabs, buttons etc.  Then use the   dry eraseable magnetic surface to give it a label.

Makes the UI much more consistent than handdrawing AND they can be easily moved around.

They are great if you like whiteboard sessions for IxDA, especially in a team.

PA

I’m a mid/senior level freelance UXer and I’m looking for ways to optomise my work time ie. spend more time doing paid work and less time doing admin etc.

A few people have suggested I take on a part time PA or bookkeeper.

Has anyone on this list tried this? Can you share your experiences/tips?

Stupid Pop-Up Windows you can't bypass unless...

I absolutely "hate it" when website throw me a pop-up window asking me to Sign-up when I don't even know one sliver or 'string' (from string theory) about them. Even worse there is no way to escape, refuse or close the darn thing.
Thanks. I'll never return again.

Please if you have ever done this, stop it.
It does not work! It just pisses people off! If you insist on doing it atlease give me a way to close or skip it.
I have seen similar insane tactics on some of those Daily Deals website.

Case in point:
