IxDA Los Angeles organizes bi-monthly events about topics related to interaction design. Our events help expose our local community to informative speakers and fun activities.  Various companies host and sponsor events in offices throughout the greater Los Angeles area so that all parts of town have an opportunity to participate. Generally, our events occur mid-week, after business hours.

LA UX Holiday Party

On November 29th, all the LA UX groups will gather at Vodvil for an evening of games, food, drinks and karaoke. This is no cube farm gathering, this is a seriously funky lounge bar with game show host and karaoke room and most importantly, a bar.

Is this local group still active?

I've been wondering whether web professionals can attain a level of camaraderie and inspiration on a local level, as graphic designers find in AIGA... and I'd love to see some more organization in the Los Angeles area. Does anyone else feel the same way?

We've already got some great local event series which incorporate multiple disciplines – like Creative Mornings and de LaB – but perhaps there's something more we can do to unite interactive specialists? Is there anywhere else you've been finding local connections?
