Welcome to the Tampa IxDA Local Chapter! 

This group exists to help support the user experience and interaction design communities around the Tampa Bay and central Florida areas. We welcome members from Orlando, Sarasota and other surrounding areas in addition to the bay cities.

Practitioners and students are welcome, as well as those interested in learning more about UX or IxD.

ATTN: Where to find all the IxDA Tampa happenings...

Hi all - 

IxDA Tampa has two online homes: this space on the IxDA site, as well as a Facebook group. Originally, our plan was to keep most discussion here on the IxDA side, as it seemed the threaded nature of this space was better suited. However, it's become apparent that the Facebook group is a more natural area for conversation and discussion, so we'll be concentrating the bulk of activity over there. In true user-centered fashion, we're doing what seems to most naturally fit in our users' lives!

Time for Aug 11 event (5:30 PM)

Hey all - 

The IxDA site has a glitch that sometimes causes events to show the wrong time, depending on your timezone settings and login status. For tomorrow's meetup (Aug 11), the correct time is 5:30 PM EDT at The Pub in International Plaza.

This week's meetup

Hey all - 

Hope you're all looking forward to this week's IxDA Tampa meetup!

I wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're meeting. We'll meet at The Pub in International Plaza, upstairs near the wall of beer (you'll know it when you see it, if you've never been there). I'll try to have a sign on the table to make it clear where the group is.

Just a couple days left to submit for Interaction '12

A bit late notice on this, but the call for presenters for Interaction '12 ends Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. EDT. 

Interaction is an excellent conference, and this year, is in Dublin. If you've got something on your mind that you're dying to share with the interaction design world, make sure to get it in this weekend!

First, welcome! I'm happy to see you're interested in IxDA!

You may be wondering what this is all about: what is IxDA? What is Interaction Design, anyway? How is this different than UX or UI design?
