Posted on behalf of Suzanne EL-Moursi, Chair of Interaction|13:
I am pleased to formally open the Call for Proposals for North American cities interested in hosting the Interaction|13 conference - the annual conference of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) - to be held in February 2013.
User Focus, UPA Washington DC Metro Chapter’s conference on usability and user experience, is Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Washington, DC. We will have two tracks covering topics for people new to usability as well as for experienced usability practitioners.

On behalf of IxDA's Board of Directors, it is with great pleasure that we announce Suzanne EL-Moursi, Creative Director at SapientNitro in Chicago, as Chair of Interaction|13, to be held in North America in February 2013. Suzanne's vision, expertise and experience inspired us, and we look forward to working with her to bring an amazing event to life.

Design. Innovation. Story: an Odyssey of Confluence
Leading academics, designers, professionals and artists will gather at Savannah College of Art and Design for the International Digital Media and Art Association's ninth annual conference, to explore how digital media and art is a confluence of creative innovations.
What a great conference! Fabulous lineup, great volunteers, and hospitable city.
This event proves the power of IxDA local groups as well as the benefit of partnering with other orgs. Oh, and also that not all design is done in NYC or Cupertino. ;)
Midwest UX (http://midwestuxconference.com/) ended yesterday afternoon. What a fabulous conference! Check out the site for the details of who spoke (full disclosure: I was honored to do a 20-minute segment). Soon they'll post slides of folks' materials there as well, or look on Slideshare.
An excellent mix of speakers, activities, workshops, and after-events. Reminded me of the first IxDA conference in Savannah.
In this final posting of the Call for Papers, we cordially invite submissions to the 8th ACM Conference on Creativity & Cognition (C&C 2011) as well as to the related art program, tutorials, workshops, and graduate student symposium.
