A list of mobile situations

Hi all, since we're all interested in the design for mobile, I thought it
would be interesting to have a list of situations, common activities and
contexts that could related to the mobile design. The list would help us to
reflect upon mobile and would be truly INSPIRATIONAL for all the designers.
Sometimes, in fact, we don't reflect on what are the contexts in which our
users are going to interact.

Favicon and Apple Bookmark Icon

My company is an interactive agency. For a few years now as a standard
procedure we've created favicons (favicon.ico) for websites we build.
Recently, we have started creating an Apple Bookmark Icon
(customIcon.png) as well.

As an owner of an iPhone I dig the bookmark icon. But in day to day
browsing on a computer I actually use the favicon. In fact all my
browser bookmarks are simply the favicon. It allows me to have more
bookmarks without displaying any text.

iPhones on Campus

Just found this article on AppleInsider:

Apple holds big plans for 'iPhone University' on college campuses:

You can follow a link from the article to this page:

iPhone Human Interface Guidelines

I thought I'd bring this to the attention of the group, in case you haven't
already seen it. Apple has published an iPhone Human Interface Guidelines
document. You can see it here:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhoneHIG/

I only skimmed through it, but I didn't see too much that was
groundbreaking.

iPhone Usability Test

Has anyone read about the iPhone vs. HTC Touch vs. Nokia N95
usability study performed by Perceptive Sciences?

While I believe the final result is likely correct (the iPhone wins
handily), I question the integrity of the study.

Is iPhone ease-of-use really scalable?

Hi all
Apple has used several methods to make the iPhone easy to use. It is highly
likely that future versions of the iPhone will have more features that this
first version.
What do you guys think will happen to the ease of use?

The strategies Apple has used are:

-Less features.
Apple has severely limited the features compared to the competition. The
iPhone is designed for primary use cases only. Either you call someone or
you don't.

iPhone - review

I was going to respond yesterday to the "who is buying an iPhone"... but
decided to wait and just post an initial review...

I got one... sort of. I bought one for my wife. And trust me when I tell you
it is even cooler than the appears in the commercials. I was going to wait
for the next generation version to come out, but I might just go ahead and
get one.

There was no line at the AT&T store at 7AM yesterday morning when I stopped
at Starbucks for coffee (they're right next to each other) on my way to
work, so I decided I would check back at lunch.
