IxDA Phoenix will hold its third meet up Tuesday, July 28th at 6pm.
Gangplank (http://www.gangplankhq.com) in Chandler has once again
opened their space up to us for this event. Gangplank is a
collaborative workspace so laptops, cameras, and other gadgets are
IxDA Phoenix is focused on not only bringing the community in Phoenix
together, but also bringing the community together for a purpose.
DUANE BRAY, interaction designer and head of Digital Media for IDEO, and
RYAN JACOBY, who leads IDEO’s Business Design discipline, will co-lead a
discussion about the intersection of interaction and business design.
Drawing on examples from IDEO’s past work as well as inspirational stories
elsewhere in the world, the two will consider the question of how
interaction and business designers approach problems, how the relationship
between the two disciplines has changed, and how collaboration can lead to
rich user experiences and business solutions.

Designing for the Digital Age (Kim Goodwin) - Chapters 1 -11 (Getting
Started, Research, and Modeling).
It's pretty thick so we'll break it down into two sessions or maybe
more. I think the book is a lot of food for thought/discussion so
let's just see how far we get in this meeting.
