My company is considering where UX is placed. I found a number of articles on the topic, and have read Institutionalizing Usability by HFI's founder (and I was employed by HFI in 2008-2009). I'd like to discuss how companies of 2,000-10,000 employees organize user experience:
- Title and role of senior-most UX officer
- Distribution of resources (single cost center vs. matrix)
- UX team make-up and organization
- Key benefits and challenges
If you know of articles, blogs, or slideshares, please post them here too.

Join us for an evening with one of NYC's most in-demand independent user experience consultants, as she describes what it takes to go solo, and the lessons she's learned along the way. This event will follow an interview format, moderated by NYC UXPA President Gloria Petron.
I just wanted to let everyone know that Bill Buxton will be keynoting this years Remix South conference. It's a community hosted conference so we're keeping the cost low. This will be the only US speaking engagement for Bill this year. Plus, we've got a great UX track which includes both workshops and sessions.
Intercom is going really well for us. So much so that we need help. Our design team previously consisted of myself & Eoghan. But we can't give design or UI the time it deserves any more. We've recently hired a fantastic visual designer, and we're looking to pair him with a fantastic UX person. The role is pure UX, no clients, pitches, or proposals. You'll be working with our visual designer, myself and Eoghan (CEO) to make Intercom the most usable beautiful web application in the space.
Some of you may already be aware of this (thanks to whoever is in charge of the IxDA Dublin Twitter stream for promoting us!), but we're going to be running Dublins first Design Jam on September 1st in the amazing offices of Furious Tribe on Hume Street. This is the second Design Jam to be held in Ireland after the success of our first event in Limerick back in April. You can get more info on the website: http://www.designjam.ie or on the Eventbrite page http://designjamdublin.eventbrite.com
