I'm having some technical difficulties posting a proper 'Event' for this Friday's breakfast meetup, so I'm also posting this in the discussion area.
We're meeting at Grumpy's Cafe in Cleveland (Tremont) this Friday, August 30th at 7am. Join us for casual conversation with some great people! Anyone is welcome to join, whether you're an interaction pro, or just wanting to learn more.
UPDATE: It appears the Carnegie Kitchen is closed, so we will meet at Grumpy's Cafe instead. Spread the word! Thanks!
Misys is proud to present a User Experience Open House. We would like to share some of our work and engage in open discussion about the user experience of financial software. Background about Misys, its software, our UX process, and demos of what the UX team at Misys produces will be shared. This event is free to the public.
If you are in San Francisco on Feb 20, you might be interested in our upcoming event this month at Founders Den in SoMA. Jason Johson, founder of the IoT Consortium (http://www.iofthings.org) will be speaking. We hope to make it a fun night of learning and networking.
Too often, we design systems for boxes—whether big, metal boxes that it would take a forklift to move or little plastic boxes that we carry around in our pockets—rather than thinking about how they are connected and how people can share and use them to do work. When it’s all about the computer or device, we design systems, tasks, and content that fit into those little boxes. We create flowcharts that progress in predictable, linear ways within a computing system and present information as little boxes of content, on glowing screens.
